Content Policy
Vesta is committed to maintaining a high-quality platform for individual artists, labels, rights holders, distributors, enterprise partners, digital service providers, and other music-industry participants. This Content Policy explains the standards that apply to any music, sound recordings, compositions, artwork, metadata, videos, artist profiles, catalog data, rights information, or other content submitted, uploaded, delivered, administered, monetized, or distributed through Vesta.
By submitting content to Vesta, you agree to comply with this Content Policy and any additional requirements applicable to your plan, account, agreement, platform, territory, or service.
1. Purpose of This Policy
Vesta performs content review, verification, and quality-control measures to help maintain professional standards, reduce errors, prevent fraud, support rights compliance, and meet the requirements of platforms, payment providers, distributors, partners, and applicable laws. Submission of content to Vesta does not guarantee acceptance, delivery, distribution, continued availability, monetization, reporting, or payout.
2. Ownership and Rights Requirements
You may only upload, deliver, administer, monetize, or distribute content through Vesta if you fully own and control all rights necessary for the requested use, or if you have obtained all required licenses, permissions, consents, approvals, clearances, and authorizations from the relevant rights holders.
You must have the legal right to use and distribute all elements included in your submission, including but not limited to:
- sound recordings, masters, stems, vocals, and mixes;
- musical compositions, lyrics, arrangements, translations, and adaptations;
- beats, instrumentals, loops, samples, interpolations, and remixes;
- cover artwork, videos, visualizers, photos, logos, trademarks, and branding;
- artist names, likenesses, biographies, credits, label names, and distributor names;
- featured performances, producer contributions, collaborator contributions, split information, publishing information, and ownership details;
- metadata, release information, ISRCs, UPCs, identifiers, territories, dates, and platform-specific information; and
- any other materials, data, or rights required for distribution, monetization, reporting, or administration.
If you do not fully own a work, you are solely responsible for securing every necessary license, permission, consent, approval, and authorization before submission. This responsibility applies equally to individual artists, labels, managers, distributors, catalog owners, and enterprise clients.
3. Rights Services and User Responsibility
Vesta may from time to time offer services intended to assist with licensing, clearance, rights administration, publishing administration, monetization eligibility, rights verification, royalty allocation, or compliance-related needs. However, unless you expressly request such a service and Vesta expressly agrees in writing to provide it, you remain solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining all rights, licenses, permissions, consents, approvals, and authorizations required for your content and its distribution, monetization, administration, and related uses.
Even where Vesta offers rights-related services, you remain responsible for ensuring that such services are used correctly, requested for the correct content, and based on complete, accurate, current, and non-fraudulent information. Vesta is not responsible for errors, invalid coverage, rejected claims, failed clearances, ownership conflicts, payment disputes, or other issues arising from inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, outdated, or fraudulent information submitted by you or on your behalf.
4. Originality, Accuracy, and Metadata
All submitted content must be original to you or properly licensed for the intended use. All metadata, rights data, split data, account data, ownership claims, artist names, label names, distributor names, release dates, territories, and supporting documentation must be truthful, complete, accurate, current, and not misleading.
You must not submit content or information that:
- infringes or may infringe the copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, moral rights, contractual rights, or other rights of any third party;
- is falsely claimed as original, owned, licensed, controlled, distributed, or authorized by you;
- contains unauthorized samples, beats, loops, stems, vocals, artwork, videos, logos, names, likenesses, or protected elements;
- contains inaccurate, incomplete, manipulated, recycled, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, or falsely attributed metadata;
- misrepresents the identity, role, contribution, ownership, popularity, label affiliation, distributor affiliation, or authorization of any artist, label, distributor, rights holder, or contributor; or
- is submitted in a way designed to evade review, platform rules, payout rules, fraud detection, rights checks, or account restrictions.
5. Quality Control Review
Vesta may review submitted content for technical quality, formatting, metadata accuracy, ownership-related issues, policy compliance, fraud signals, platform suitability, payout risk, rights conflicts, and commercial or reputational risk. Review may occur before delivery, after delivery, before monetization, after monetization, or at any other time.
As part of our quality-control process, we may review factors such as:
- audio quality and technical specifications;
- file formatting, cover art, video assets, and platform requirements;
- metadata consistency, completeness, and accuracy;
- artist, label, contributor, and distributor naming conventions;
- suspicious ownership, licensing, rights, or royalty allocation issues;
- duplicate, repetitive, spam-like, manipulated, or low-value submissions;
- fraud, streaming manipulation, artificial engagement, impersonation, or misuse;
- account verification, identity verification, business verification, tax information, and payout risk; and
- platform-specific, territory-specific, or partner-specific requirements.
Vesta may request corrections, additional information, proof of ownership, proof of licensing, proof of authority, identification, tax information, banking information, or supporting documentation before accepting, delivering, continuing, monetizing, or paying out for any content.
6. Right to Reject, Remove, Suspend, or Withhold
Vesta reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, remove, disable, suspend, delay, takedown, redeliver, restrict, demonetize, withhold royalties for, or otherwise act on any content, account, catalog, delivery, report, or payout if we believe that:
- the content violates this Content Policy, any Vesta terms, any agreement, or any platform rule;
- the content may infringe, misappropriate, or violate third-party rights;
- the content is of insufficient technical, commercial, or professional quality;
- the information provided is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, outdated, or fraudulent;
- the content, account, catalog, or payout creates legal, commercial, reputational, payment, tax, fraud, rights, or platform-related risk;
- a platform, partner, payment provider, rights holder, distributor, label, artist, publisher, or other third party objects to the content;
- additional verification is needed and has not been provided; or
- Vesta determines that action is necessary to protect Vesta, users, platforms, partners, rights holders, or the public.
Vesta may take such action before or after distribution, before or after payment, and with or without prior notice where Vesta determines that action is necessary or appropriate.
7. Proof of Rights and Supporting Documentation
At any time, Vesta may require you to provide documentation showing your right, authority, identity, business status, tax status, payment eligibility, or legal ability to use, administer, monetize, and distribute submitted content. This may include, for example:
- licenses, clearances, permissions, and written authorizations;
- split sheets, producer agreements, artist agreements, label agreements, distributor agreements, and publishing approvals;
- sample clearances, cover song licenses, remix approvals, synchronization approvals, and derivative-work approvals;
- chain-of-title records, catalog ownership documents, administration agreements, and letters of direction;
- identification, business registration, tax forms, payment details, banking information, and verification information; and
- other records reasonably requested by Vesta or required by platforms, payment providers, partners, or law.
Failure to provide requested documentation within a reasonable time may result in rejection, suspension, takedown, withholding of services, withholding of payments, account restrictions, termination, or other action.
8. Collaborations and Shared Rights
If content involves multiple creators, collaborators, performers, producers, labels, publishers, distributors, rights holders, or other contributors, you are responsible for ensuring that all necessary permissions, approvals, splits, credits, payment instructions, and rights information have been obtained and accurately submitted before delivery. Vesta is not responsible for resolving disputes between collaborators, co-owners, labels, publishers, producers, distributors, managers, artists, or any other third parties claiming rights in content or revenue.
9. Licensed and Third-Party Material
If your submission includes material that you do not fully own, you must have a valid license or authorization covering your intended use, territories, platforms, duration, monetization, sublicensing, distribution, and administration. This includes any use of:
- sampled recordings, compositions, lyrics, vocals, stems, or interpolations;
- leased, purchased, or licensed beats, instrumentals, loops, presets, templates, or sound kits;
- stock or licensed artwork, photos, fonts, video, or design assets;
- third-party logos, names, marks, trade dress, or brand references;
- translations, adaptations, remixes, edits, mashups, cover versions, derivative works, or public-domain arrangements; and
- content created, owned, administered, or controlled by another artist, label, distributor, publisher, producer, or rights holder.
You are solely responsible for confirming that your license is valid, sufficient in scope, and compatible with digital distribution, monetization, reporting, administration, and any related Vesta service.
10. Prohibited Content and Conduct
You may not submit content or engage in conduct that:
- infringes intellectual property, contractual, publicity, privacy, or other legal rights;
- is fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, impersonating, or misrepresentative;
- uses another artist's, label's, distributor's, brand's, or person's identity, likeness, name, logo, or reputation without authorization;
- contains false release information, false ownership claims, false streams, false engagement, false credits, or false payment instructions;
- is spam-like, duplicative, misleading, artificially generated at scale without meaningful human or creative contribution, or designed to manipulate stores, charts, algorithms, royalties, or reporting;
- violates applicable law, sanctions, export controls, public policy, payment processor rules, tax requirements, or platform requirements;
- promotes, depicts, supports, or incites hatred, violence, harassment, terrorism, abuse, exploitation, or discrimination against individuals or groups;
- contains or promotes child sexual abuse material, child exploitation, pedophilia, sexual content involving minors, or other illegal sexual content;
- is obscene, unlawful, or otherwise harmful in a manner that creates legal, ethical, reputational, payment, commercial, or platform-related risk; or
- attempts to evade Vesta's review, detection, verification, account restrictions, takedown process, or payout controls.
Vesta reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, remove, disable, suspend, report, restrict, or take other action regarding any content, account, catalog, payout, or user that Vesta believes falls within any prohibited category or is otherwise inappropriate for distribution or administration.
11. AI-Generated or AI-Assisted Content
Vesta does not prohibit content solely because it was created or assisted by artificial intelligence. AI-generated or AI-assisted content remains subject to this Content Policy and all other applicable standards, including originality, lawfulness, ownership, licensing, metadata accuracy, quality control, platform suitability, and anti-fraud requirements.
Vesta does not allow:
- mass, repetitive, spam-like, or low-quality uploads of fully or primarily AI-generated works;
- AI-generated or AI-assisted content that infringes third-party rights, imitates a person's voice or likeness without authorization, or violates applicable platform rules;
- misleading submissions that falsely represent AI-generated content as human-created where such representation is deceptive, unlawful, or platform-prohibited;
- AI content used to manipulate royalties, engagement, platform algorithms, search results, charts, or reporting; or
- AI content submitted without required disclosures, labels, permissions, or documentation where required by law, platform rules, or Vesta policy.
Vesta may review, limit, reject, remove, require disclosure for, or request additional verification for AI-generated or AI-assisted content at its sole discretion.
12. No Guarantee of Acceptance, Availability, Monetization, or Revenue
Compliance with this Content Policy does not guarantee that content will be accepted, distributed, remain live, be monetized, be available on any particular platform, be available in any particular territory, receive royalties, receive analytics, or remain eligible for payment. Final acceptance and continued availability may depend on Vesta review, third-party platform requirements, rights claims, legal considerations, payment processing rules, and other business or operational factors.
13. Your Responsibility and Liability
You are solely responsible for all content, information, documentation, instructions, accounts, users, catalogs, rights claims, payment instructions, and tax information submitted through Vesta by you or on your behalf. By submitting content or information, you represent and warrant that:
- you own or control the content, or have all necessary rights and authorizations to use, administer, monetize, and distribute it;
- all information, metadata, ownership details, split details, payment details, and documentation you provide are true, complete, current, and not misleading;
- your content and instructions do not violate any law, agreement, platform requirement, or third-party right;
- you will provide supporting documentation if requested; and
- you will promptly notify Vesta of any ownership dispute, rights issue, licensing problem, tax issue, payment issue, or inaccurate information related to your content or account.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vesta against claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to your submitted content, your information, your breach of this Content Policy, your violation of third-party rights, or your use of the platform.
14. Policy Updates
Vesta may update this Content Policy at any time. Continued use of the platform or services after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
